JOIN TODAY!
Brothers and Sisters,
The 91st Golden Gate District Convention is now in the books. On behalf of the Sacramento AHEPA Family, I want to convey our deep gratitude and congratulations to those who joined us last week at the Stockton Hilton. Twenty-five AHEPA Brothers and twenty-one DOP Sisters were in attendance. Special appreciation goes to AHEPA's Supreme Treasurer, E. Chris Kaitson, and DOP Zone IV Grand Governor Robbie Jackson, who traveled from far away to be with us.
We would also like to thank all the dignitaries who took time off their busy schedules to compose greetings for our beautiful Convention album. The album wouldn't have been possible without generous sponsorships from several Chapters, businesses, and individuals. We sincerely appreciate all the support we received. You can download the pdf version of the album by clicking on the link below.
On Friday, June 9th, we hosted a welcoming reception at the patio by the hotel pool. We enjoyed appetizers, reconnected with old acquaintances, forged new friendships, and enjoyed the delightful and unseasonal comfortable weather.
After the welcoming reception, we had the first-ever AHEPA vs. DOP quiz game. We had lots of fun while the Brothers and Sisters took their best shot at 45 questions. Although AHEPA added a ringer to their team halfway through the game, the Daughters bravely fought back, so the game finished in a draw, to everybody's satisfaction.
The meetings were held on Friday afternoon and Saturday and concluded with the District lodge elections. The returning and new officers are:

The events on Saturday night started with the District's 2023 Scholarship awards. Eleni Voudouris, Theodora Christina Maheras, and Teddy Kyriakis were present to accept in-person their awards. Other participants graciously accepted the awards on behalf of the remaining recipients. You can read more about the Scholarship recipients in the latest Traveler issue you received a few days ago. The link is also provided at the end of this email.
The scholarship awards were followed by dinner and Glendi with Greek music by DJ Chris Perris. The evening activities also included a raffle organized by PGS Diane Petersen. Thank you, Diane!
The Convention was formally concluded on Sunday morning with Church services at St. Basil Greek Orthodox Church and coffee hour sponsored by the Sacramento Chapters.
During the Convention, two new AHEPA brothers were initiated: Joseph Agostini and Chris Perris. Congratulations to our new Brothers, and welcome to the AHEPA family.
